I bought a SomethingAwful account two days ago. My first two topics were the new simpsons movie and how much F-15s kick ass.
I think I’ll like those forums.
And as of 1:03 AM, my SoaP theme song count is now at 87, which pales in comparison to Laura’s 147. :O
Today I woke up at 7, ate breakfast, out the door by 7:30 to Annandale Terrace ES. I get there around 8, sign in, go see Jimmy, the TSSPEC with another intern, Matt, who arrived at the same time I did. We then spend 2 hours reinstalling XP images onto Dell D600 laptops while Jimmy is at a meeting. After this, we keep imaging whole carts of laptops while the tech guys have the teachers meet in the library to swap out their old laptops for their new laptops.(Read: The same D600 with the shitty stickers ripped off and a new XP install on it)
The first group of 20 took 2 hours to do because all elementary school teachers seem to lose any ability to use anything with a power cord when following instructions. All we did was backup their my documents to the server, then have them login to their new laptop to get them back on.
Somewhere in there we had pizza and I met another intern, Blair, who is going to UVA this fall. He’s been working summers for 3 years now, went to TJ, smart kid.
The second group of 20 teachers took 25 minutes. Why was it approximatly 480% faster than the previous group? Dunno.
At 4, we started a new group of laptops, locked the door and went home. I go back on Thursday to do more laptop imaging. I guess the free pizza balances out the drive.
And in the past 24 hours:

I need new music.
- People will buy you food for a week or drive 15 miles just to get out of doing boring work.
- Taco Bell SUCKS. :O
- We need to pick better (Read: not as hot) times to sit outside.
- I now have four headers in rotation at the top. More soon.
