Two things I have learned from this weekend:

  1. My 30D can survive a seven foot fall onto hardwood
  2. I love Risk.

Photos from cabin can be found on the Facebook, here.

Welcome to the Terror Dome

Really, I can’t put it any other way than these two videos.

And even that doesn’t do what that place is any justice.

If you can’t tell, I’m a little excited for the Boston College game tonight :D

June 15th

Sure we may be graduating from high school that day, about to embark on the rest of our lives, but more imporantly, it’s Bob Barker’s last show on The Price is Right.

You know who should replace him?

Bruce Campbell.

Watch this and think about it:

You cannot argue against that.

Aftermath

This I will be updating as I get all my stuff onto my computer.

For now, check out our match videos. Click here for our match numbers on Curie field and here for the qualification videos.

There’s something to be said in the power of music

Today I watched the most depressing movie ever made. Titled Threads, it’s a docu-drama made by the BBC in the 80s detailing what would happen to England if nuclear war broke out. You can read a summary here or if you want to feel like shit afterwards, watch it yourself. It’s considered by many to be the best representation of what a post-nuclear society may look like.

After getting home from robotics, I sat and watched this film. And it really horrified me; the fact that humanity was a step away from that possibility, that future, for five decades. The more horrifiying thought is that the possibility of a nuclear weapon going off is probably higher today than it was back then. At least then there were countless safety measures being led by (mostly) cool heads who understood the consequences. Today some fuck with enough cash and (bad?) luck could blow up a suitcase in a major city thanks to the collapse of the USSR and the period of instability that followed there. Granted, the chances of being blown back to the stone age was small then and still is today, it’s just more real now, maybe just for me or our generation, the first that really grew up without the “nuclear meanace”…

So sitting in my chair, depressed as fuck for the future of humanity, staring at the sundown coming through my windows, I opened mediamonkey and selected my favorite song of all time: Pink Floyd – Bike

I had a snack, listened, and felt better. Hard to explain why. Maybe the sheer cheesyness of the entire thing is just one of those things, like that racecar noise that was bought out by crazy frog, or random pictures of kittens or puppies or a Calvin and Hobbes comic. Go watch and listen and tell me that doesn’t put you in a good mood. :)

This is why soccer is the greatest sport in the world.

The greatest 10 minutes in the history of film
